Liberty Land Wellness Policy

WELLNESS POLICY

In order to keep all our children healthy, we ask that sick children and volunteers not attend Liberty Land if any of the following symptoms exist (as recommended by The Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics):

1. Fever over 100.5 degrees
2. Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
3. Any symptom of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, mumps, chicken pox or whooping cough
4. Common cold – from onset through one week
5. Croup
6. Any unexplained rash
7. Sore throat
8. Any skin infection – boils, ringworm or impetigo
9. Untreated pink eye or other eye infection
10. Any communicable diseases
11. Lice, including the presence of eggs or nits

These are the guidelines that we follow and we expect that a child or volunteer be free of fever for 24 hours before coming back to Liberty Land. We do not dispense any medication to a child. If a child appears to be ill, we will notify the parent immediately by posting the child’s ID number on the screen in the auditorium.

SNACK POLICY

In Liberty Land, we also have a very strict snack policy. Due to possible food allergies in some children, we maintain a peanut-free environment. We request that no outside food be brought in with any child except for the infant and toddler rooms. If you choose to bring a snack for your infant or toddler, please clearly label the snack with your child’s name. For children ages 2 to 5, we provide a small snack each week. This snack will vary between cheerios, goldfish and animal crackers. If your child has a food allergy, please notify Liberty Land Coordinator and your child’s room volunteer immediately.
